« on: January 01, 2009, 06:43:56 AM »
Does anyone want seeds that aren't on our list of seeds? Well, if you do please post the species you would like and we will see what we can do for you   :)

My wish is to get some phalaris brachystachy seeds.

All seeds from the wish list will be added to the "Seed List" upon aquiring.

if you have ANY of the seeds listed on the "wish list" please contact 'Phyto' or 'Just Me'

there is a very likely possibility these will be purchased from you.

ANY seeds you would like to donate for FREE, will be accepted and added to the "Seed List". All i ask is, please, have them properly identified!

I will be able to offer various things also, so far I am planning on offering Phalaris Arundinacea and Datura Inxoia seeds and the potted plants. I also might offer the plant material but I don't know if anyone would even be interested?

I will be able to send "rooted cuttings" of two different varieties of Phalaris Arundinacea. The ribbon grass, and the normal wild type. The ribbon grass is Phalaris arundinacea 'Picta'.

This is a bit off topic, but the talk about  getting Salvia Divinorum seeds made me kind of wonder if you could double it's chromosomes to get it to become fertile and able to produce decent quantities of viable seeds?
I have seen in mentioned on other forums and what not but never heard of anyone doing it.
Since you seem to have colchicine and have been able to double the chromosomes of a few different plants, think you could give S. Divinorum a try?

It seems to me that this would have already have been tried since it is such a problem. I guess the sellers don't want to have the plant's seeds easy to grow since that would more then likely lower the profits they are making.

I have read about this as well, and I would love to try it. I was even planning to at one time but I never obtained a S. Divinorum plant. If I could acquire one I'd be more then happy to try and double the chromosomes. That really should make a huge difference when it comes to fertility of the plants and viability of the seeds.

Where is a cheap source of live S. Divinorum plants?

Didn't JustMe say he would have cuttings in the summer?
Perhaps you could get one from him. Getting a seeding Salvia Divinorum plant would just be absolutely amazing I think.

Are you growing Salvia Divinorum? If you are, you ought to try and double the plants chromosomes with colchicine. I think that, even if it failed, would be an exciting and worthy experiment.

I'd be very interested in a live cutting since you are in the same region as me.
