Strike total synthesis II talks about achieving a nitrogen atmosphere, is this possible with something else then nitrogen gas?

Cheers & thanks in advance

Hi Beanhead, You shouldn't be creating a new thread for just this question. It is already answered hundreds of times if you look around. This would be much better asked in something like the Short Questions Thread.

Anyways you should be able to substiture nitrogen for argon gas in many reactions where it is just used to create an inert atmosphere. It should be available from some welding supplies shops. Just make sure you get pure argon not argon mixed with CO2 or something else.

This is a good example of how not to start a thread.

One sentance, a vauge reference... to a reference. Im moving this to the trash bin, use our short questions thread or try again.
