Since this is a forum based around pharmaceuticals, I figured this would be a good chance to explain a little bit about ourselves... in a different fashion. Please list any mind altering substances you have tried, after this, please discuss any mind altering substances you'd like to try. Please, do not bring up self incrimination. If you don't feel comfortable posting about this, then don't. The cops aren't going to come to your house because you say you've smoked pot once or twice.
What I've tried:
-Marijuana (once)
It was quite fun, but quite a shallow experience. When I say shallow, I just mean that there was no where to take the altered state of consciousness. It was relaxing, and fun, and everything was hilarious, but that's as far as it went. Would I do it again? Probably. Would I do a lot? Never, I'm already too damn relaxed.
-Psilocybin mushrooms (a few times)
By far my favorite experience. With small groups of people, or by yourself, it brings on very deep questions within yourself and you 'discover' quite interesting things. For the mentally strong, it is a very unique experience, as you can completely control your emotions and feelings upon your liking. You can induce fear purposely, then take it away as you want. Not to mention, the visuals are fairly out of this world in the right lighting (black lights, pattern rich environments, and UV reactive posters are the quintessence of a good trip). With large groups of people, it becomes quite intense and emotions fluctuate wildly. Music has a very powerful control on your mood (I would recommend ELO, electric light orchestra).
-Alcohol (a few times)
There's nothing like a cold beer when you're thirsty, but to be honest, I don't find strong inebriation to be all that fun. It destroys brain cells, it makes any progressive conversation difficult, it makes movement difficult, and seeing difficult. A light buzz can enhance your mood, and make you more social however.
-Amyl nitrite (once or twice)
Quite boring, would not recommend it. It just gives you a head rush for a little while, an odd (but unmistakable) taste in the back of your throat, and is sometimes followed by a headache. Save this for the cyanide poisoning
-Caffiene (too much)
It used to be just with energy drinks (I started before the whole craze kicked in, when only monster green was available, and red-bull), but then I procured a pound of food grade caffeine powder. My friends and I began mixing our own energy drinks, and we eventually had tolerances up to 800mg to 1g. There's nothing special about caffeine, it just makes you more awake. We had also tried it via snorting, which was a much different effect. There was a slight euphoria, followed by a much less moderated energy burst, that didn't last long. Of course, there was no real caffeine binging in the same way of cocaine - once it wore off, we didn't make another line, we simply decided we didn't need to do whatever activity we were doing very quickly hahaha. I have since reduced my caffeine intake significantly. I don't partake in that whole energy drink scene, I just instead choose to get decent sleep haha.
What I would like to try:
-Mescaline (it's the first on my list because I find it the most interesting)
-DMT (smoked, and orally with an MAOI)
-Salvia
-LSD (just once, so I can compare it to mescaline and psilocybin)
-MDMA/MDA (probably just once, since I have a feeling it would be fairly boring by my standards)
-4-methylaminorex and/or pemoline (Much less abuse and addiction potential than amphetamines, yet still roughly the same potency)
Drugs that have sparked my curiosity, but still not willing to try if offered (still reading about the negative effects):
-Cocaine
-PCP
-Ketamine (I'd have to hear some damn good stories to consider trying a dissociative, despite the fact that onley's lesions heal completely after time)
Drugs I wouldn't consider trying:
-Most opioids/opiates (wont exactly refuse codeine based cough syrup, but any time the doctor offers me vicodin, I tell him not to write the prescription. I dislike acetaminophen, and I'm not a big fan of the whole narcotic thing)
-Amphetamines (It's just a stimulant with an enormous potential for abuse and addiction. I'd be just satisfied with pemoline or 4-mar
Now lets hear what everyone else has tried/wants to try/wont try!
