Question about CTH ?
« on: April 25, 2011, 03:56:37 AM »
Can CTH replace all Other hydrogen reduction ?
If not in what case it work ( with example pls )
For example can A CTH reduce Chlorocodie to dihydrodesoxycodeine
Or reduce Cyclohexene to Cyclohexane

In what case it can be used in place of classic hydrogenation ?

Depends on what you're transferring from but my guess is not all hydrogen reductions i.e. not things like benzene -> cyclohexane.

There is a very thorough review on the application of transfer hydrogenation in a thread I started earlier this month.  And I just added a more up to date review on heterogenous CTH.  Hate to say it, but god damn, UTFSE
