For the 3rd fucking time Elemicin from Gallic Acid

Before that fucking Nazi Enkidu gets his hands on this post can someone please post the synthesis for elemicin from gallic acid. It is listed in the book Elemicin Synthesis published by McNeese State University in 1976 but the only two copies I can find are in their library.

Elemicin is hard to make from gallic acid (too much steps) but if you want a corret precursor you can make 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzaldehyde from it.

Step 1 - Trimethylation with an methylating agent such as Me2SO4, Me3PO4, MeI, MeMs, Me3S Br, ...

Step 2 - Make the acid chloride with SOCl2 or any phosphorus chloride

Step 3 - Make the aldehyde with H2/cat of selective hydrides such as Al(tBuO)3H.

Alternative route : Make the ester from the acid and reduce it with DiBAL
