This was written last year, and is one of the most comprehensive and balanced opinions I have read, anywhere to date...an extension of the Anonymous debate...I dont have a 'side' just an interest in how infotech is developing :P

He sees information as an abstract free-standing thing, so to him, differences in perspective and circumstance mean nothing. This is how nerd supremacists think.

I rest my case, bias don't even begin to describe the logic of this cave dweller. As if logic even plays a role in the mind of someone who fears what they have no understanding of... My last point, if you have little understanding of the topic at hand, please don't write a blog.

Hmmm, I'm not sure I understand you sedit,  Isnt "information' in itself 'neutral'?
I just thought that as this was written some time before the Occupy 'movement' he makes a number of interesting points, shit its a long article with many points/factors raised.

I found his pov re: 'trust', very interesting, amongst several things....

"cave dweller"? ......hey it was just a link, why such an emotive response?

Blog? no blog! I'm not talking about me here!

Yes information should be neutral yet this fellow argues that its not. Hes claiming that to think so is a nerd supremist thought.  I just dont feel he has enough information about the dynamics of the people and topic hes writting about to warrent writing a blog that may influence others decisions. He just needs to take a less bias stance before trying to write thats all.

Aha! I see your point, but I think you may have confused him quoting Assuange? TBH,  i found his pov on 'protesting' per se, interesting as well as the comment about a 'totally transparent world not 'requiring trust'..therefore trust would 'become unecessary' and consequently obsolete' :P an unsual thought I must admit I had never considered!

As the old Chinese curse goes, "may you live in interesting times!".....hmmm I think we ARRRRH matey :o
