White gas (ammonium hidroxide and formic acid)

Hi

When Ammonium solution (25%) is added to formic acid(85%) white gas formed. What is this smoke ?
Ammonium gas isn't white, right ? Ammonium formate is in the solution...so i have no idea...

This isn't related to drug synthesis and isn't worthy of its own thread. Post this stuff in the short questions thread in the other chemistry section.

Its Ammonium Formate - both the chemicals are volatile and react to form a non-volatile compound in the air producing white smoke/powder. Google it with HCl and Ammonia...
