Learning about disinformation tactics from Iran
« on: January 19, 2012, 11:59:48 PM »
So I have to find a few more references but as I read more about all the assassinations and attempts, and all the plausible theories behind them, I start to understand the war on drugs better.  Although all the information we get could be considered suspect considering how much of it is online and how much easier it is to alter online content compared to print media.

we know from this article:
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-iran-bomb-20111205,0,7550482.story that the CIA:
purposely disseminates incorrect scientific information to slow nuclear research
supplies faulty parts for machines
alters computer software to make it work improperly

this is interesting too
http://www.statesman.com/news/texas/iranian-student-activist-killed-in-houston-2106032.html
all the media articles mention that she was a women's rights activist, but her parents say that this was exaggerated and that she wasn't all that political (there could be alot of reasons for this).

then there is the clumsy assassination attempt by the Iranian car salesman

and the assassination of a nuclear scientist which some say could have been by Iran to make it look like the CIA and Israel were assassinating Iranians (apparently he was not a very high ranking scientist and thus not really a prime target)

anyways all this is really confusing is it the CIA making it look like Iran or Iran making it look like the CIA.  Its a great puzzle though.  I feel like they have influence over the news probably through tips to news agencies because they all seem to report things the same way.  maybe I'm paranoid, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the synth's circulating are disinformation from some organization.  Also, everyone pretty much agrees that the DEA read here but I wonder if part of their strategy is as saboteur and agent provocateur.

On the Wikileaks page there was a reprint of a document by a private organization detailing techniques to discredit wikileaks by submitting bogus documents anonymously and then later exposing them as false, among other things.  Its really hard to know if what you are reading is real or not, I've come to realize.

Sure are they reading here, they want to now whats hip in the szene, the trends (not at least to prepare new scarecrows in the WOD). But seeding misinformation, not working synths? Ah no, we don´t need the MAN for this, we can do it pretty well alone  ;D And for a matter of fact the whole trade does it. Look at how many of the things provided in articles are working as presented if at all  ::)
So do they and so do we, polish up the invention, boost the yields a tid or publicing something whats just a wish, say an educated guess. KrZ from the Hive did this all the time and his "synts" are still famous at Rhodium´s. And me myself, there are quite some posts I made I dearly regret, but the Internet never forgets.

If you don´t post a large-scale synth with pictures I suppose you are pretty safe here. Just because there is so much bragging of dreams which are just dreams nobody knows, it is just a game. And thats good this way (doesn´t say this should take overhand, understood). Protection by ignorance  8)

Taking oneself not overly serious, using another handle and removing all metadata from documents and pics when posting something REALLY incriminating ands thats that.
Never forget, having us here at one place is quite conveniant for them. Why should they interfere or sabotage?

yeah, plus I know all the things posted here are based on textbook theory so comletely bogus reports would probably be easily exposed.  and, someone making some meth isn't really on the same level as making a nuclear weapon but, I think police use the basic principles of intelligence organizations so i would imagine that they at least try to give bad advice.  Even if only for practice.  Think about the rumor that a cop has to tell you he's a cop if you ask.  That's total bullshit, but alot of people believe it.  Could a cop repeat this rumor to his own advantage?  Could he come on here and act like a total sleaze to make future media investigations think thats how people who like making honey are?

The fact that the iranian woman who was assassinated was a women's rights activist is interesting.  The powers that be try to paint themselves as the defender of women and children and muslims as backwards brutes.  But I have no idea who killed her.  It just seems like terrible timing for Iran and great timing for Iran's enemies.

I think alot of Federal LE have military background and know how to use things like feints and propaganda.  I just thought it was an insight into the minds of those who watch us.
