hope they don't use this to give them more reason to take away our privacy.   Damn thats such a long investigation, wonder if someone stopped paying there bribe?  hope they had cash stashed for a good lawyer

They never made any money by the looks of things. $1,000,000 at (generously) 50% commission, minus overheads, split 8 ways spaced out over 18 months to two years. They would be lucky to be able afford a lawyer to share.

No one should think that they can run an auction site SOLELY for the purposes of selling drugs and remain free indefinitely.

Not doing the TOR community any favours either. Attempts will be made to prohibit or restrict the implementation of this technology if these arrests continue.
Adamflowers has been running for well over a decade.

Selling controlled substances to strangers. What could possibly go wrong?

Silk Road has been known about by LE for a long time, and they still seem to operate.

They are probably as well secured as they can be.

Havent used it in a while, but ive heard they did/going to change to a referal system. But im sure the pigs have a giant amount of accounts, and if you can get refered by other members and there isnt a check it would be easy to get as many accounts as they wanted. Basically just a matter of time before they get caught

EDIT: if anything the users of the site will suffer not sure about the site admin grmetting taken down

Silk Road is just a platform, they don't sell drugs.

Easier to get caught if leave a money trail as Adam did. Along with using Hushmail.

Surely they'd get in legal trouble if any government found them operating the servers in their country.

Silk road can only bee accessed via TOR.  i am sure that is not their only precaution, albeit whatever they did obviously wasn't enough.

And to the

Call it what u want, afoaf ordered some pure Peruvian H, and recieved his package disguised as a USB connecter.  Recieved by mail, or similar postal courrier.  Regardless of whether ysilk road the seller or not, According to the laws, they would be involved in a "conspiracy", and "conspiracies" can net ya more time than the actual possession.

REVERSE STINGS!!!!

poorly executed, much to SWIN's advantage, but occurring via silkroad none the less.

bee care. fake names, safe drop houses required.

I'm sure they would be, I was just saying that the two have different modes of operation, so they can't be directly comparable. For one, SR doesn't deal with shipping which is a crucial vulnerability of online sellers that LE likes to explore.
