I'm a resident of Australia who has had the fortune to have worked and studied in some of this country's universities, organizations and private companies devoted to the betterment of civilization through the applications of science, chiefly related to the medicinal. I'm currently in search of my next professional opportunity and have been contemplating starting an owner operated small business salvaging waste products and reworking them to be useable commodities.
I have always been fascinated by psychoactive compounds and the diverse effect they have upon individuals, along with awe and appreciation for the resourcefulness of those who produce them. This finds me at something of a dilema; while part of me would like to see the decriminalizing and centralised production of such compounds so that clean affordable product would be available under regulations akin to other pharmaceuticals, doing so would cease the need, and therefore my appreciation, for the resourceful clandestine manufactures and their inventiveness. In a catch 22 like this I think the greater gains society in general would make in centralized and regulated production of desired compounds would be of far greater benefit. I'm sure the inventive manufactures currently responsible could find new avenues of application to express their genius and be admired in.
