.......yes, just like previous forum archives of wd and its predecesor, synthetikal archives are also around thanks to a member at the time made a full copy with all the files and a search engine, they all remain alive and active ,read only, as long as you were a member prior to the change of status as archives....java

Agreed with java here, running the site as a team has its benefits. A lot of those who are mature and qualified/experienced enough to moderate a site like this one have busy personal lives and cannot dedicate the time necessary to run it alone, hence a group can share the load, while maintaining high standards expected of administrators. Also, if one of them disappears for one reason or another, the site doesn't just vanish without a trace, and if someone needs to step down, tricky succession issues are avoided.

Java has been present in the community for a long time, and Assyl has known Organikum for over a decade (though using a new handle now, so he may not recognize this). Both are worth vouching for, and neither reside in the US, which is always a plus.

The site will not disappear don't worry. I won't let that happen. Talk of a backup is just because that is needed and has always been wanted. It'd a good thing to do.. To provide everyone with an HTML copy of it.
But I do need to find a solution of some sort because I can't do all the things I want to in order to make this site better.

The only sensible and realistic sugestion so far has come from Polonium .

I think it would be best if you just take a break for a while and try to deal with the tasks you have and also try to help your friend ......... but keep ultimate control .

Youve done a realy good job and after witnessing the behaviour and lack of self control of at least two of the moderators here it would be a BIG mistake to hand over complete control to the moderators ........... because at least some of their egos would kill it in a short time .

Oh, true that - really, it seems most prudent to simply turn the site over to the moderation team, as they have already proven themselves. Don't mean to leave anyone out, it's just that Assyl has known java and Organikum for many years.

Nope not mine, I just did what I could to attract productive useful members. As much as I would love to take the reigns Im afraid I'm in a position worse then Vesp right now to handle the forum else I would grab it in a heart beat. I feel in my heart all will work out here but only time will tell.

Vesp, would you be able to retain formal ownership of the site, and promote a few moderators to administrators, so that they can take on the tasks you don't have time for? Just another possibility.

Sheesh sorry ya'll, I never meant to give anyone that impression at all. The hard work and dedication Vesp put into this site is something I in no way could take credit for. I just don't have the drive anymore to build and upkeep a site like this.

All I did was do everything in my power to bring forth intelligent and productive members to the best of my abilities since at the time when the site started to take off there was so many issues at the Collective/Wetdreams and SM spent to much of there time trying to shut down any conversation discussing psychoactive substance we all needed a new well kept home and thankfully Vesp was there for us.

I don't think it's anything you ought to be sorry for, Sedit. Nothing you've done takes away from all of Vesp's good work, in fact I think it adds further value to it. Perhaps it also gives credence to the options Vesp has to manage the situation.

.......why not leave the site to a co-0p type administration, leave it to the people who actually have worked to make the forum what it is.....no one person should own the forum ...too many have made the mistake and chaos have resulted. I would add a few more names to that list - Lugh for one. Organikum has a "strong" character shall we say, and a short-fuse (I'm not picking here, I'm the same). There are also some other members, RoidRage seems to be pulling his/her weight, but how long for remains to be seen. I'd prefer that people with demonstrated staying power took control.
