20x Ephedra extract - oxidising / reducing

I got some 20x ephedra extract

and some 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide


I'm gonna put 400mg the extract in small glass vial and add some of the 35% peroxide then stick in microwave

I think this shoukd oxidise to methcathinone.  Any thoughts on ration?  Will it work?

I'm gonna eat is and see  8)



Also would there be any easy OTC way of reducing it?

What safe reducing agents are there?

I know of red phos but I doubt eating red phos and iodine and ephedra is wise - i think oxidising tho is  fairly safe as above ^^^


Any ideas for some ghetto reduction?   What about electro chemical reduction of the ephedra exrat?   That would be safe to consume I reckon?

You don't have a reference for this, do you? You can't just take a random oxidizer and hope it will effect a desired transformation. Odds are, you will get low yields, and a potentially toxic mess.

By 20x extract, do you mean just a crude extract concentrated onto plant matter? If you don't have isolated ephedrine to work with, you might as well just boil it in aqua regia, and be done with it.

I was trying to find where i read it years ago. Maybe one of UF's books........i'm tryin to find the document that contains the synth.  But it was in one of those compilation "cookbooks"with synths for various compounds.  It is nothing i have tried personally, but the full "recipe" is available somewhere.  either way assyl is right.  Ephedrine is needed.  Not ephedra.  I mistook the extract in the title to mean that it was plant matter that was already extracted.  What u have is ma huang, correct?

If u can figure out how to get ephedrine from your ephedra (hint:TFSE --> herbs 2 honey), then this link is as ghetto as it gets.
