Yeah, na, don't see it happening. Iran and russia aren't as closely allied as you think. After the collapse of the soviet union, I dont think anyone is nutty enough to properly consider mutual destruction via nuclear weapon.

And china really wouldn't do too well without other countries buying their goods. They may be quite happily off in 10 years, but not until they can start consuming most of what they produce will they be independent of western nations. Not until they drag the chinks out of the sweatshops and into offices will this change.

Yup when the leader goes down he tends to take his followers with him. Like when a domineering boyfriend kills his girlfriend if she tries to leave him because "If I can't have you no one can!" It's the same thing that will happen on the global scale as Europe and US are facing an obvious economic downturn while the East is on their way up. The current people in power are no more responsible than David Karesh they're all the same it's just a different scale. As soon as they are faced with real competition and start to lose the game and lose control that's when things start getting squirelly.
