My site is back up

Hey guys, my site is back online.  I believe this is it's fourth host, but hopefully it remains up for quite a while.

I have not trasnfered everything yet, so most pictures will not come in, and many links might be dead (or non-existent).  Please tell me of any dead links and I will do my best to correct them as quickly as possible.  The website also changes often, so check it often.  I try to keep most updates noted in the updates section however.

As you know, I like it. I have gathered the dead links that I can find for you, hopefully it makes it easier to determine what needs to be added - seems like you just forgot to add some files when uploading?

Wow I never knew you had a site but I really like your synths! Especially the demethylation of eugenol. I have been looking for a good procedure but none out there really explain anything very well, or i just dont have what it takes.

I meant to throw up the demethylation with pyridine*HCl, but never got around to it.  It's much much easier and I made a couple mls of safrole this way.  The methylene chloride was my main problem though, methylene bromide would work much better.  Thank you vesp, I'll be checking those links.  I noticed the stuff in the contact section after I posted this thread.

Yeah thats what I was hearing. The only problem is finding a source for methylene bromide as I currently can't find one. But I am planning on working on that reaction a lot to saffrole just because I love the substance :) Is the pyridine HCl demethylation easier? I would think it would be a lot cheaper...

Cool, likes like you've got up most of the files now, I'll have to take some more time and read about all that jazz.
 a lot of them have broken images though, such as the reflux, and a few others so might want to check that out, I'm guessing you either have it set that your pictures location is on your computer (so you view it, while others cannot) or you just haven't added them yet.

I haven't added a lot of the pictures yet because it takes a while on my comp and bogs down my illegal movie/music downloading hahahaha. 

@basstabone - pyridine HCl demethylation using microwave is substantially easier.  The difficult part can be producing the pyridine HCl and keeping it away from moisture - it's more hygroscopic than methylamine.  The cost is somewhat relative - my half liter of pyridine was around 80 bucks, so take that as either expensive or cheap depending on your definition.

Yeah, if pyridine wasn't so toxic, I'd say throw out your 'damp-rid' and use pyridinium chloride instead.  You can remove the damp smell from your basement, and dehydrate your food in the fridge upstairs at the same time.

Yeah some how i overlooked the method on rhodium and it sounds a ton easier! The problem I would guess is the huge excess required. Guess it just depends on which you can get for cheaper... Iodine or pyridine HCl. And how much your time is worth ;)

Fortunately, the huge excess could potentially be recycled.  The stuff that reacts is turned into mixed picolines (methyl pyridines), but the excess could be reverted into pyridine and distilled.  The azeotrope of pyridine/water can be broken by a few things, there is a large patent on that.  I even had plans for the picolines (gamma-picoline to isonicotinic acid, BZ precursor), but I never got around to messing with the solution.

I digress.  If anyone would like to see a certain synth finished, or a section to have more content added, please let me know.  Otherwise, I'm just filling in stuff willy nilly to my liking.
