I2 from aquarium Iodide supplument

So this 236ml bottle of aq. KI solution has a pretty impressive potential amount of iodine in it.  'Gauranteed Analysis' on the bottle states
Iodide (min)...................0.0794%
That would be 18.73g of Iodide.  Stuff is cheap and I found stacks of such bottles at the first big pet supplies store I walked into.

It lists the ingredients as folllows:
De-ionized water, potassium iodide, sodium hydrogen carbonate(goes by the alias sodium bicarbonate sometimes), sodium carbonate, sodium tetraborate(aka Borax)

I tried both trusted methods for claiming I2 out of similar mixtures, with seperate test trials using every which way possible excess, or miinimum, or fridge cooling, or giving it several hours.

Never more than a slight  yellowish color.
A wikipedia article or two has led me to conclude that the purpose of the borax is to 'inhibit precipitation'.  It sure works.  Any ideas?

Are you sure you did the math correctly? I haven't checked but this seems way to much for a 236ml bottle of a .08% solution.
100mls of it would only yield .08 grams of iodide.

now ain't that a bummer!  I forgot to compensate for it being a percentage when i punched it into my calculator, multiplying by it as though it where a decimal.  So yeah, good eye Vesp, it's 100 times less than that.  I guess I was letting my excitement blind me.

But I have to mention that the MSDS mysteriously lists iodine as <10% of the contents.
And the 'gauranteed' analysis states "minimum" for the .08%.

Wishfull thinking I know.  Funny how they list 'less than' amounts that way.
