here is one ive used to find many hard to find scientific papers for free! most of my library has come from this site. just put in a key phrase like lysergic acid, safrole, wacker, whatever and you'll get atleast 50 papers/books pulled up.

Thanks I really like the herb book - spend lots of time at Dr Duke's phytochemical database.

Here's one a fair number (self included) could use.

A Guidebook to Mechanism in Organic Chemistry, Sixth Edition
Quote

A classic textbook on mechanistic organic chemistry which is characterised particularly by its clarity, careful choice of examples and its general approach that is designed to lead to a ready understanding of the subject matter. This guidebook is aimed clearly at the needs of the student, with a thorough understanding of, and provision for, the potential conceptual difficulties he or she is likely to encounter.

Anything you want can be downloaded for free in PDF format at library.nu

Best site ever. I have spent hours downloading every kind of book you can think of. They even have post-grad text books. One I downloaded the other night was a 4,000 page post-grad text book (not mere reference book but 4,000 page text book) on I think neurology. You want chemistry books? Dude they have current 1,000 page chemistry textbooks for even the most specific subtopics (one I saw the other night was a text book on just Inorganic Chemistry in Biologic Reactions). I think I have a 800 page textbook just on serotonin. Now I have to just read the damn things :-)

Library .nu  .... was formerly gigapedia.com a well known site which as of recently changed it's name to library.nu, it's a place well known, remember to register and log in to see many other books and their links, no need to repost their catalog of books, just go there and find what you need, post things not found there here.....java

The Chemistry of Hydroxylamines, Oximes and Hydroxamic Acids (Chemistry of Functional Groups)

I can't find a proper summary to copy pasta, however the title speaks for it's self. With all the discussion about hydroxylamine and oximation, this book is bound to be exactly what someone is looking for, it's exactly what I was looking for. This fucking book sells for $1885 on amazon. If for no other reason you should download it because of that.

Edit: Java, I know you don't want library.nu's entire catalog being reposted book by book and that's not my intent, I promise. It's just that I doubt a lot of people know of this book and it is definitely relevant to their interests. I know that in spite of all the googling I've done in the past and study I've done reading up on hydroxylamine and/or oximation I never once saw this book. Now that I've had it a few hours and had a chance to do more than thumb through it, I can say I am even more impressed with it. I only post it because I suspect it has slipped right past others the way it has me.

Here's a preview link

And here's the download link

Thats looks amazing but my NoScript is blocking parts of it..did you download it?

I'm a bit wary of Googlebooks, paranoid is a better word, coz my 'fear IS Unfounded, yeah?

Did you know that Hydroxamic Acids are used in the solvent extraction of Uranium and other types of metals!!! A tad out of My league! lol! though I am in the land of Yellowcake aka, Uranium oxides!

Nice find from what I could get to look at, I hate it when reading a google book preview just as your getting to the good bits, the pages go blank!!!

Yes, I've downloaded it. The link is not affiliated with google books in anyway. For what you are talking about doing with hydroxylamine this book should be essential reading for you. I've been reading it all night and I love it. Just google the name and you can preview it on a million sites. The download is from ifile.it, not google books.

EPUB (short for electronic publication; alternatively capitalized as ePub, ePUB, EPub, or epub, with "EPUB" preferred by the vendor) is a free and open e-book standard by the International Digital Publishing Forum (IDPF). Files have the extension .epub

EPUBReader is a freeware Firefox add-on that lets you read the contents of any ePub book right inside Firefox without requiring any special software.

Yellowcake land? Which end? I've lived near 3 of the mines and often wondered. Be some sort of fun to set up a distillation tower with H2S and get enough D2O to set up a fast breeder wouldn't it

Are the books on the front page going to be available again? A lot of them are extremely intriguing, and seem not to be available anywhere else.
