......what's in a name?,.....it's always been the people that make any forum.....so it could have been Brand X,  the Hive was great also due to the members, hence I rest my case.......java

Yes, never mind with thevespiary, isn't hard to remind, sound pretty good. I think it related to the founder Vesp, isn't it?
If it's right, never mind at all, it's very normal if a company is named with the founder name. And i think will be better if people know what's thevespiary mean, i believe people willing to know (I'm one of them). May be a part come from "Apiary" like Sulfuro said.

It's like a brand, the most expensive thing in a company. Brand is closely related to positioning "what's people think when a brand comes into their mind". Sciencemadness is pure chemistry, drugs-forum is more to drugs user forum, wetdreams is drugs chemistry, Hive is drugs chemistry with many good character members are lying around.
Positioning it self will determine what kind of member will be absorbed, stick there.
Strong positioning will serve a loyal members, closed market.
What i want to say is, may be better if you determine (as detail as you can) what you willing to be, and build this forum to that direction, this is very the same with a synthesis.

That is it.

It was inspired by The Hive, and as such it has a similiar name. A bee nest is known as a hive, while a wasp nest is known as a vespiary. Another reason, perhaps, is because in my lab the common wasp had formed many vespiaries around the door, and even with in the lab itself. Another species of wasp continued to nest in my holed stoppers.

Wasps and Bee's have similarities, but also a lot of differences to them, and when I wanted a website I wanted it to deal with chemistry, drugs, and organisms -- so that isn't the same content of the hive, so it shouldn't be named anything meaning the hive..

i've always likened this site as a cross between the hive and science madness.

I have a ghetto distillation device, i place it outdoor, they ever nested in the pipe, and funny thing was happened when i used it to distill Xylene lol.

Yes, different is better than better.

Actually that is only generally true of the honeybee, Apis mellifera, other Apis species and possibly also members of Megapis, and Micrapis.

Bumblebees do not possess the barbed sting that prevents multiple stings, nor do queen Apis species.

Duh. beecause "the vespiary" sounds badass.  8)

Know its only phonetic issue, but one thinks "Apiary" makes us sound like a bunch'a dumb homosapiens....

And the boy's father was shouting:

"He doin' the stanky leg! He doin' the stanky leg! Two yearz ol' an' he doin' the stanky leg an' he NOT EVEN TRIPPIN'!!"

The infant was, in fact, doing 'the stanky leg.'

Believe me boy, I seen everything.
