NP washes to remove acetaminophen from codeine

Can SWIB use a regular NP that isnt chloroform to wash tylenol out of codeine?
Or can an acid/base be done on T1's or T3's? of course after a cold water pull.
What about a presoak in a easy to obtain NP before a cold water.
Or can anything be done to seperate the two, that is simple other than a cold water....or after the coldwater extract?
Im asking becasue where I live in Canada we can get bottles of 200 8mg T1's for under $10. But thats really alot of tylenol.
Thanks |

For some reason smartasses around here dont like to help newbees so I dont know alot but i will try. The other solvent which u might find easier to get is DCM(dichloromethane aka Methylene chloride)Do your cold water crap and filter and such and then bring the ph up to about 12 using a solution of 2 tablespoons caustic soda with 200 ml of water.Add some of this to your mixture of codeine, water and paracetamol until the ph is 12.Once on 12 just add about 30-40ml of DCM and wash it through by turning upside down several times and shaking gently making sure to vent after each tumble as a bit of pressure builds.Remove the DCM and then repeat the process 2 more times with fresh DCM.The codeine should now be in the DCM and the para is in the water.Seperate all the water from the DCM and I mean ALL THE DAM WATER and then put the DCM in a ceramic bowl ontop of a pot of simmering water and slowly evap down with gentle heat and you will be left with your codeine. |
