96% crystal Hypophosphorous swim is not familar with this having only used liquid hypophosphorous. swims first experiment with crystal was not successful the reaction was very powerful using one for one with E and I refluxed for 2 hours and then distilled out the oil was clear colour but when ph down it was a yellowish colour the end result when dryed out was a red colour and would not set. The second experiment was one for one again but added 1 mil water per one gm crystal once again good but slow reaction refluxed this time for 3 hours distilled once again nice and clear ph down yellow again (ph to 7.2) the end this time was still horrible red colour and yes it did set nicely this time. I washed this twice with actone but the red would not come out. If the crystal Hypop is put in ones hand it melts within seconds. It is a very white fluffy crystal. Used two different batches of Iodine balls thinking it may have been a problem with that but it was red in both cases. If anyone could give me some advice on this I would appreciate it.
