Hi
I have a little question abut Butylamine.
I bought n-Butylamine. it has the labeling: n-Butylamine H8H19N ( what should that be???)
I checked solubility and Boiling Point:
-not soluble in H2O
-soluble in EtOH
-Bp: 135-140°C
-strong amine-like odour
-inflammable
-clear Liquid
that canīt be n-Butylamine (C4H11N)
i guess itīs Di-sec.-Butylamine (C8H19N)
Can anyone tell me what this stuff is, or how i convert it to n-Butylamine?
Is it possible to use this as a catalyst for Benzaldehyde Nitroethane Condensation to "P2nP"??
Since di-sec-butylamine is four times more expensive than n-Butylamine i can not understand how he could send me that instead the right thing...
Sorry for eventually bad spelling. English is not my native language, but i will try to do better in future. But since i want to know what i have and what i can do with it, iīm takin that risk to blame myself
Ok thx!
I just thought that it could be possible to synthesize the primary amine from it?!?
otherwise i try this experiment with methylamine made from Hexamethylenetetramine.
