Post numbering system

You will notice each post has a number above it now, if you click that number it will give you the direct link to that post so you no longer need to post links to just a thread you can post a link to an induvidual post
enjoy |

That's a great function. Thanks very much.
The other thing that is really useful that they had at the Hive was a bookmarking function. |

Looking forward to a personal bookmark page...
(the post # is a good thing too; up to now I had to go via "profile of poster-> all posts" to get a link which I could then copy... ) |

Hey Jackoozzi,
maybe I'm being thick, but I don't see how it works. Clicking on any of the post number links on this thread seems to give me a javascript window that contains the same URL.
I am using Firefox 1.0.2 |

Thanks Jackoozzi,
turns out I was being thick. I was just pressing the OK button on the javascript box and expecting that to copy the URL to my clipboard. Didn't realize you had to copy with Cntrl-C !
The function works just fine in Firefox. |

Thanks for the function Jackoozzi, I've installed it on our e-book index to take the reader directly to the book page, but not to the direct post.
I'm sure with a bit of more tunning you can get it to go to the direct post alone and index it as such that one can just post the post number for search and reference .....yes, I know just like at the Hive, and go stright to the post.
In the long run the forum works better because of the constant effort of trying to improve the functions and make it more usable, for that I thank you..........java |
