I tried UTFSE but got a bunch of shit back. How do you make 5% NaOH ???

Take the weight of the water, figure out what % saturation you want and add that weight of NaOH.
example 1000ml of water weighs 1000g 5% of 1000 is 50 so 50 grams in 1000 ml gives your 5% soln.


Chromic

Technically, if you want to make 1000g (~950ml) of 5% NaOH you mix 950g of water and 50g of NaOH. But... I bet you're using this for a wash... in which case the difference doesn't matter.
