Has anyone ever used Trichlorotrifluroethane to do a non-polar extraction? AF found a couple of 1 lb. cans in the storeroom and was wondering if could be used instead of DCM. (Would have to chill first)
Sure would evaporate fast!

Freon is bad for the environment. DCM is a wonderful solvent, and should be used if available. Be responsible...

They say that discussion about freon is not allowed in hive because it depletes ozone.
