I have a question i want to make some white coloured cystals which once reach boiling point, will evaporate and leave no residue. A friend of mine did it but he told me its hard to do. Is this correct? I UTFSE couldnt find anything.

The process which you describes is also known as sublimation. It is substance-dependant. CO2, for instance, is a substance which sublimates (using atmospheric pressure).
