hey folks,,a most interesting thread
Almost ALL neurotransmitters are "released and recovered" with varying time spans---SSRI = Selective Seretonin Reuptake inhibitors-----SNRI=Selective Norepinepherine RI---take too much tramal..which is a 'combined' SSRI/SNR inhibitors and enjoy the sleeplessness..repetitive thoughts,,shakes etc caused by TOO MUCH seretonin.....then there's the 'methylations/de-methelations,,etc etc etc as sedit said..and its VERY complex,,and not at all well understood.....maybe not for a loooong time
I may be no great chemist (yet) BUT....I speak from loong years of participation,,indgestion of various mood and mind altering substances......and paid the prices---IMHO I am surprised I am still alive!!!
I have said this in another thread...but for "Re-stabilizing" a 'compromised' headspace
check out the books by an english bloke called Patrick Holford (&co) called
"how to quit without feeling S**T".....`he recommends 200mg 5-htp in two doses
Tyrosine is the precursor to dopamine noradrenaline and adreniline
probably the 4 foods missing iin our diets are
1)essential omega 3 and 6 fatty acids-ideally GHA,DHA,DPA and EPA
2)vitamin C (esp with bioflavinoids)
3)phospholipid complexes--phosphotidyl choline,serine DMAE,TMG & either glutamine or pyroglutamate
I first "bioassayed" amino acid supplements, back in the '80's and became a convert.....still love me mood and mind fun..but with ALMOST no permanent bad effects--do yourselves the favor,,,swih aint quit but usually dont feel ANY negative effects after a BINGE
Just keep giving your body GOOD Food and you'll appreciate it---a bit like exercising can be a bit of a bitch--it most certainly has more rewards and benefits,, than NOT
cheers and cold beers
