Ok, well once upon a time I stumbled across some angels trumpet which I immediately recognised, from quite a long way away, from a photograph. Needless to say I pocketed several leaves and flowers. The leaves were dried in la Divina Comedia, and flowers were stored in a freezer.
Smoking a little under ~3 in^2 as a first trial produced in me a relatively short lasting effect, mainly consisting of a feeling of lightness, when walking, and some memory impairment, subjectively quite pleasant in my opinion. And the aroma of the burning leaf is quite nice too, certainly better than tobacco. During those first couple tries I was in one of my more 'insane' modes (long story short, if y'all care for an explanation fine), and I distinctly noted it made me feel saner during the duration of the effect.
Later on I decided to try a tea, one flower in about 2/3 cup H2O, microwaved for two or three minutes, colouring the drink quite well. The flavour I found somewhat unpleasant, a strange floral-potato scent. I ingested it slowly over the course of an half hour to go slow minimise risk, watching some television. Even after two hours or was it 1.5, perception of the tv hadn't been modified although there was some sedation, and declaring it a lost cause walking to bed I noticed a mild loss of coordination. Anything remaining was easily slept off, except perhaps a little bit of memory but I couldn't detect it.
Well just recently I gave the flowers to a friend interested in anticholinergics given their use in european witchcraft stuff. Our band was getting together and he suggested we make a tea; a pot of water was brought to a boil to which was added 12 flowers and was simmered for ample time (around half an hour or so). I figured if one flower produced such mild effects I might as well throw them all in (there were five of us, so ~two flower doses per). Cannabis was smoked on the occasion by all five, I had some clove on the side, and two of the others had one or two cigarettes that evening.
Jamming was fairly good, not as spectacular as the occasion demanded, though my memory is generally poor enough sober: it could have been great or awful. Regardless, then tea was consumed. Honey evidently vastly improves the flavour of the striking red-orange tea making it actually kind of pleasant tasting. Lots of honey. We each had at least a glass full, leaving half or slightly less of the stock behind which was bottled for future consumption (~1 flower per person). It was amusingly sacramental, especially with american cheese and crackers, hahaha.
More jamming worked out well. I recall having spent half of a jam tuning a guitar, but allegedly in a particularly artistic fashion. Delerium itself didn't seem to set in for anyone at that point (from what I remember of it and from the fact that nothing was in particular disarray, etc. Although, they all felt the effect and more strongly than myself. One described it as a heaviness, in contrast to the lightness I tend to observe. At the end of which we became tired, presumably the doing of the angels' trumpet, or perhaps because it was 5:00 AM. Sleep soon followed, in my case undisturbed, I can't comment on their quality of rest, but it seemed sufficient all around.
I woke up refreshed. A little dizzied at first in my case, but that soon faded as I walked a couple paces, reminiscent of the effect of cannabis more than brugmansia. Reflexes and processing speed seemed in their normal range (speaking for my self) and the others didn't seem much if any impaired. I felt perfectly normal, however, apparently at least two of them continued to feel it strongly throughout the day, reporting the typical delerious symptoms (voices, vanishing objects, puzzled acquaintances), which I've yet to experience.
Eg. "had extreme trouble telling my day dreams from reality- I day dreams I was on a bus, talking to people, and I ended up saying something in the middle of the play while I was in the audience, and then picking up an imaginary pick I dropped on the ground, and it all felt soooo real" going on to say "it was crazy man, once I closed me eyes, I was literally COMPLETELY dissociated from reality, and could feel, hear, and see a completely different imaginary world that I could control"
While another, driving home somewhat frightened his passenger by talking to imaginary people. Hazardous, I know, you tell him.
So my question is what on earth is going on? Certainly I couldn't have inured myself to it from but a handfull of low dosage trials spread well over the course of a couple months. It must mean something that I'm resistant to at least this particular anticholinergic, but I'm at a loss for what! Is this at all common?
