yeah sektor, it was, well, a golden colour actually, but completely lacking in turbidity or milkiness of any sort, perfectly clear but for the yellow tint. the solution changed colour with the combined action of the base and the heat, presumably the blackening was caramelisation of sugars into icky tars.

swim tried anutha, this time their was a murkyness in the *camp fuel* layer, and this time swim based before adding heat to the *camp fuel*/brine, now the filtrate is very murky, swimll post when freezing is complete, but swim has a feeling that this second try might have failed

yup, failed.. however there are fb xtals there but there is also a dark something stopping swim from seperating(gakk??), added 1/2 water, but the dark crap did not disolve in the water and is still floating around with the fb, any suggestions, perhaps swim did not base the brine properly to ph11-12? also there was another layer, a white sedement below the brine/*camp fuel* layer! wtf?

yeah the solution needs to be hot while it is being based, that's part of it, what u see is precipitated salt, if the solution were hot enough it would be soluble.

i think the pH is more like 13, by the way, less alkaline freebases than this need a good pH 13. the solution should go dense and opaque in any case. there needs to be a minimum amount of contact time and the naptha needs to be hot as well (naptha is lazy as fuck when its cold)

has swil tried the tetra trap? if so what are the yields compared to this? swims finding that the yields are not great, though in stating this swim hasnt masterd this method yet, but any comments bout the comparison between this and the tetra trap(or anyother method) would be greatful

swim has tried several methods but this one by far the fastest... swim can't comment on relative yields, this one yielded, the other ways were much harder, longer and less successful

if swis is having trouble with it could be the solvent being used, v_e seemed quite adamant about the particular solvent, vm&p iirc, lucky for ozzies the local one available at supermarkets in up to 4L bottles does the trick (shellite). there's sites which explain what the different names for these things are around the world, google international fuel names

baster? seriously, it is easy to find PP sep funnels if you have a look around, usd$20 500ml. swim can't live without a sep funnel, it is cruel and unusual punishment in swim's opinion.

There has been extensive discussion about this at WD. Many of the published methods do not address current gakks in pills. The tetra trap will remove some gaks, but not all of them in current pillstock.
The three pill extraction methods to consider for clean feedstock are: Straight to Bee III, Festers KOH Boil, and Dwarfers Method. There may still be older formulations around that can be extracted with the older methods, but the three listed are the current methods.

The choice of method to select is entirely dependent on the formulation of the pills from which the pseudo is to be extracted.

If you are extracting more than few boxes, you would be wise to do test extractions by lot number first.
