FileName: Loompanics.Uncle.Fester.Secrets.of.methedrine.Manufacture.5th.Edition.pdf
Release Date: Unknown (this is not a group release)

Note: I picked this up through eMule and it was not seaded very well. Only like 1 guy had it and got lucky enough to grab it from him. The *.zip files are encrypted, and inside them are ARJ files. Couldn't use RAR to break up the big file for rapidshare, because WinRAR is not available in Linux, unless you buy it. WinRAR should handle ARJ files with no problem though. Total file size is about 70meg.

This mesmerizing, surreal account of the bizarre advetures of Terence McKenna, his brother Dennis, and a small band of their friends, is a wild ride of exotic experience and scientific inquiry. Exploring the Amazon Basin in search of mythical shamanic hallucinogens, they encounter a host of unusual characters--including a mushroom, a flying saucer, pirate Mantids from outer space, an appearance by James and Nora Joyce in the guise of poultry, and translinguistic matter--and discover the missing link in the development of human consciousness and language.

Note: This is a fully OCRed version in HTML format. Seems like it was posted somewhere on the web, but not sure where. Got this through IRC sometime ago. It's a bit dated, 1976, but still, Schultes is like the real life Indiana Jones. A Harvard professor who spent many years researching these plants around the world, and participated in the various psychedelic ceremonies with the natives. Now, that's research! hehe

RICHARD EVANS SCHULTES, Ph.D., F.L.S., is professor of natural sciences and director of the Botanical Museum at Harvard University. An internationally known botanist specializing in narcotic, medicinal and poisonous plants, Dr. Schultes spent some 14 years in South America living among Indian tribes in order to investigate directly their uses of such plants. Dr. Schultes is the recipient of numerous honors, among them a decoration from the government of Colombia for his work in the Amazon, and is a member of several American and foreign academies of science, including the National Academy of Sciences. He is editor of the journal Economic Botany and the author of many scientific papers; with Albert Hofmann he wrote The Botany and Chemistry of Hallucinogens.

"Digitalis Project"?

I've found a couple of books that are tagged with the image below, and makes me suspect that they have released more stuff. That "LSD Psychotherapy" book is one of them. Another one is a small booklet on growing Psilocybin Mushrooms by Adam Gottlieb.

Filename: John.C.Lilly-The.Scientist-A.Metaphysical.Autobiography.pdf
Filesize: 45MB

Note: Good quality scan.

The Scientist is John Lilly, M.D., a pioneer in electronics, biophysics, neurophysiology, computer theory and neuroanatomy, the researcher who served as the bases of the films Day of the Dolphin and Altered States. The author of Mind of the Dolphin and Center of the Cyclone tells the story of his astonishing discoveries - from his early experiments mapping the brains of monkeys and communication with dolphins to his awesome breakthroughs with consciousness expanding drugs and isolation tanks. His revelations in The Scientist are staggering - his latest report on the "solid state conspiracy," on communication with extraterrestials and the imperative of dolphin/human dialog will grip the reader with its sense of cosmic vision.

This expanded edition of The Scientist contains "bubbles" of consensus reality - text and photos - in the hyperspace narrative. It includes an introduction by Timothy Leary, an afterword by Burgess Meredith, biographical and bibliographic information.

The third edition has an update on John Lilly's work with Human/Dolphin communication and the results of recent reintroduction of captive dolphins and other cetaceans to the wild.

"If there is a cartographer of altered states of consciousness - of the highways and byways of the inner trip - it is John Lilly. A rare combination of scientist and mystic." - Psychology Today

"No one has gone as far into the future as John C. Lilly and managed to return (reluctantly, we know) with such clarity and good humor. Guard your copy of The Scientist ... a precious relic of our wonderful, incredible age." - Timothy Leary

The first book in Carlos Castaneda's astounding journey into the world of sorcery.

In 1960 Carlos Castaneda first met don Juan, a Yaqui Indian feared and shunned by the ordinary folk of the American South West because of his unnatural powers. During the next five years don Juan's arcane knowledge led him into a world of beauty and terror, ruled by concepts far beyond those of western civilization. Using psychedelic drugs - peyote, jimson weed and a mushroom called 'humito' - Castaneda lived through encounters with disembodied spirits, shamans in the form of huge wolves, and death in the shape of silver crows. Three times he met Mescalito, the god of the peyote. Finally, after a night of utter terror in which he knew that his life was threatened by forces which he still cannot fully explain, he gave up his struggle to become a Man of Knowledge. After several months of indecision, he wrote this extraordinary book.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

"Don Juan projects a quality of experience beside which scientific exactitude stands in peril of paling into insignificance" -- Theodore Roszak in the Nation

"Carlos Castaneda, under the tutelage of don Juan, takes us through the moment of twilight, through the crack in the universe between daylight and dark into a world not merely other than our own, but of an entirely different order of reality." --Walter Goldschmidt, from the Foreword

"Carlos Castaneda's intelligence shines through as clearly in his updated commentary in the 30th anniversary edition of The Teachings of Don Juan as it does in his original story. It is impossible to encapsulate what Castaneda has achieved with his first book about the teachings of the enigmatic Don Juan Matus, a Yaqui Indian sorcerer who shared his ancient knowledge with Castaneda. The academic character of The Teachings of Don Juan is evident in Castaneda's in-depth analysis (and sometimes overanalysis) of his experiences with Don Juan, and readers who lack an interest in anthropological analysis may find this section a bit tedious. However, Castaneda's journal accounts flow effortlessly, the current carrying us through his conversations with Don Juan and opening doors to an astounding realm outside the bounds of everyday life. The phrases "life changing" and "earth shattering" come to mind, and perhaps these are just metaphors, but what Castaneda offered in the 1960s is still for many an entirely new perception of reality." --Brian Patterson Amazon.com

"We are incredibly fortunate to have Carlos Castaneda's books....One can't exaggerate the significance of what he has done." --Roger Jellinek, The New York Times

"Castaneda's sanity lends to even the most lurid experiences the force of data. It compels us to believe that don Juan is one of the most extraordinary figures in anthropological literature, a neolithic sage. It helps us to accept, from the continent we stole, a mysterious gift of wisdom." --Life

"It's impossible to view the world in quite the same way after reading him....If Castaneda is correct, there is another world, a sometimes beautiful and sometimes frightening world, right before our eyes at this moment, if only we could see." -- Chicago Tribune

Two classic complete books -- The Doors of Perception (originally published in 1954) and Heaven and Hell (originally published in 1956) -- in which Aldous Huxley, author of the bestselling Brave New World, explores, as only he can, the mind's remote frontiers and the unmapped areas of human consciousness. These two astounding essays are among the most profound studies of the effects of mind-expanding drugs written in the twentieth century. These two books became essential for the counterculture during the 1960s and influenced a generation's perception of life.

Praise for The Doors of Perception:

"For one of the world's most distinguished writers to experiment with a little known drug would, doubtless, in itself stir considerable interest. Obviously, it makes a vast difference that Mr. Huxley can tell us his experience in language that is a pleasure as well as a profit to read." -- Greensboro Daily News

"Whether you agree that the experiment was worth trying or feel that the author is knocking on doors that 'should' be left untouched, you are likely to admit that a challenge is forcibly put, that ideas are freshly and prodigally presented, and that even to try to answer Mr. Huxley honestly might well be a valuable experience in itself." -- San Fransisco Chronicle

"The comparisons which he draws between the kind of consciousness that he experienced and the vision of certain artists and mystics throw some new light on the nature of perception." -- Times Literary Supplement (London)

Praise for Heaven and Hell:

"Different readers are sure to find Heave and Hell brilliantly suggestive, perversely ingenious, merely exasperating." -- New York Herald Tribune

"Heaven and Hell not only appears to be scientifically sound but is wonderfully entertaining." -- The New Yorker

"Huxley's approach in tremendously exciting, all the more so since Huxley goes as far as he can in using and referring to research in physiology, psychology, chemistry, and even pharmacology." -- Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism

About the Author:

The longer fiction of Aldous Huxley has been in the mainstream of the "Novel of Ideas" since the publication in England in 1921 (America 1922) of Crome Yellow, his first novel. Huxley is one of the most skillful and most successful social satirists of the twentieth century. His novels go far in defining the character of modern man, while his later work reflects an interest in mysticism and the effect of the consciousness-expanding drugs.

Born in England in 1894, Mr. Huxley took to writing when his eyesight temporarily failed. From 1934 until his death in 1963, Aldous Huxley lived in California.

"Cosmic Trigger deals with a process of deliberately induced brain change ... This is called 'initiation' or 'vision quest' in many traditional societies and ... a dangerous variety of self-psychotherapy in modern terminology. I do not recommend it for everybody ... The main thing I learned is that 'reality' is always plural and mutable." -- From the Preface

"Wilson managed to reverse every mental polarity in me, as if I had been pulled through infinity. I was astonished and delighted." -- Philip K. Dick, author of Blade Runner

"Erudite, witty and genuinely scary " -- Publishers Weekly

"Robert Anton Wilson is one of the leading thinkers of the modern age." --Barbara Marx Hubbard, Committee for the Future

"Dazzling, the most thrilling tilt-a-whirls and daring loop-o-planes on the midway of higher consciousness." -- Tom Robbins

During the mid-'80s Howard Marks had forty-three aliases and eighty-nine phone lines, and he owned twenty-five companies trading throughout the world. Bars, recording studios, offshore banks -- all were money-laundering vehicles serving the core business: dope dealing. At the height of his career he was smuggling consignments of up to thirty tons of marijuana and had contact with organizations as diverse as MI6, the CIA, the IRA, and the Mafia. Following a worldwide operation by the DEA, he was busted and sentenced to twenty-five years in prison at Terre Haute Penitentiary, Indiana. He was released in April 1995 after serving seven years of his sentence.

With pages of photographs, and told with humor, charm, and candor, Mr Nice is his own extraordinary story. Mr Nice has been one of the biggest-selling memoirs in Britain in recent memory, topping both the Sunday Times hardcover and paperback best-seller lists. Also translated into eight languages, this edition offers American readers the first-ever opportunity to read this riveting book.

"Frequently hilarious, occasionally sad, and often surreal." -- GQ

"Only the Welsh could have produced ... Howard Marks.... In or out of handcuffs, he is always welcome in my home." -- Robert Sabbag, author of Snowblind

"A folk legend ... Howard Marks has huge charisma. He sounds like Richard Burton and looks like a Rolling Stone." -- Daily Mail (London)

"Marks weaves a fascinating story spiced with brilliant detail, far stronger than fiction." -- FHM
