Good word! I like that suggestion a lot. How would you layout the forum?

I am thinking something like this...

Site Matters
Member Introductions
Advanced Biology
*Discussion involving advanced techniques such as PCR, protoplast fusion, genetic engineering, isolation of mutant strains, etc)
Phyochemistry
*Discuss chemicals derived from plants.
Mycochemistry
*Discuss chemicals derived from fungi.
Biochemistry
*Discuss chemicals involved with other organisms besides plants & fungi
Bioprospecting
*Discuss methods of finding and using organisms for commercial products, such as medicinal drugs, ornamental plants, food, waste treatment, etc)
Tissue Culture
*Discuss anything relating to tissue cultures of fungi, plant, or animal cells.
Biology Techniques, Tutorials, Grow Logs, and Pictures
*Share your techniques on cultivation and propagation, how you grow, and what you've grown.
Acquisition & Improvised Equipment
*where to get, how to get and make equipment.

This offers something more unique.. at least.
And goes more the direction I want it to go..

Some random ideas:

Well I tend to have a sense of humor about things so I'd probably come up with funny stuff and I don't have any hands on with a lot of this stuff.  Daydreaming:  If I were creating my own forum it would probably be more related to Herbal medicinal and chemistry - maybe call it Mother Nature's Cupboard.

But given where your interests seem to be here are some ideas.
Instead of separating it by type of organism you could separate it by phase of the process.

BioEngineering or BioFactory

   Isolation and Investigation
   Propagation or reproduction
   Cultivation or manufacturing
   Refining

   BioChemical Technology
Soup to Nuts Discussions - One thread allowed per species, ie. Salvia Divorin thread
   Brag Board

I'd keep the number of topics shorter to start with, there's some overlap in your categories - Biochemistry covers every living organism whether it be plant or animal or fungi.  And probably could use a thread for geochemical processes.

Very nice suggestion!
I will almost certainly do this..
much appreciated!

I was stuck into some sort of mental block I guess - but that is exactly what I want. It pretty much completely gets rid of the overlap, which is what I've been trying to fight.

Will work out some stuff, and hopefully have some more materials to share relating to micropropagation, etc..

offtopic but whatever - http://www.bananas.org/f260/
look at all of those micropropagation techniques... :O
