Do it! Also, Vesp, you are not in Louisiana.. you have yet time.
And afterward even if it does pass, you still would have some ambiguity in the law that can be played with.

Hmm yeah - I am still concerned about other things though - such as receiving payments for it (I don't think Paypal plays nicely with Kratom dealers, and it obviously cannot be listed on places such as ebay, etc.. )

So it is still a hard call -- but seeing it get kicked up in the news media again makes it even less desirable. IFF I could market it well, it is supposed to be very profitable.. or so a kratom dealer told me, who had to stop because his government (Germany?) outlawed it. It just came out of no where and seemed pretty genuine that he wanted me to do it, so he gave me the manufacturers info.

There are other payment processors that play much nicer than paypal, that are still widely accepted... I won't name names. As long as you have a flawless frontend for payments, it could even be considered a donation.
Kratom is a useful plant, and should not be outlawed. If anything should be remembered, it would be outlawing substances makes them more profitable and available to those willing.

Not true!  I buy w/ my Paypal from one of my vendors regularly!   Never had a problem.

Paypal has frozen loads of vendor accounts (other services also do it), they do it on request from LE or if the transaction is flagged for what is being sold. (Most infamous was the paypal meth thing that happened, but he got shut down in a hurry when they figured out what was bringing in hundreds of transactions every day).
Not to say it has happened to myself, but it is possible in every case If your product is one that paypal doesn't like.

I use 3 vendors, depending on how much, what kind, or how fast I want it, so that might be the case w/ one of them Vesp, but if they accept CC I just use that.
One of them I use Paypal b/c it's the ONLY method of buying and has been for as long as I've used them and they're in Indonesia and that's all they sell.

Update 2-29: We have just learned from the senators office that this proposal has been dropped. In stead the senator will make a new proposal to add an age limit for kratom at 18 years. We respect this. Thanks everyone for your help and support.

The governor of Indiana has lumped kratom together with the highly dangerous "synthetics" which have been in the news lately, and is attempting to ban them all with Indiana House Bill #1196.  Here's an online petition to have kratom removed from the bill:

http://www.change.org/petitions/remove-mitragynine-7-hydroxymitragynine-from-indiana-s-hb-1196-save-kratom-from-prohibition

I believe the bill has passed House and Senate and is now back in the governor's hands for approval, so time is short.  It looks like the outrage of the kratom community worked in Louisiana - stand up and come to the aid of Indiana, or your state may well be next - once the avalanche starts it's just going to get bigger.

Here we go again!!!

Unfortunate update.....

Governor Signs House Bill 1196 Into Law

It appears that despite our efforts, Mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine will be submitted into legal procedures along with the other chemicals of this bill. This isn't what we wanted, but we cannot stop here. We must keep active in our rights and stay marching in the Kratom movement. We want you to stay earnest with what your state legislature is doing and keep up with further legal actions against the Kratom plant or its alkaloids.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is only over if we become passive. For Kratom users everywhere, we must move forward.

The Senate Corrections, Criminal, and Civil Matters Committee heard HB 1196 on synthetic drugs (including “bath salts”).  Sen. Merritt presented the bill, which he said is the same as SB 234 as it left the Senate.  The bill adds additional chemical compounds (including some compounds sold as “bath salts”) to the definition of synthetic drugs and expands the definition of synthetic drugs to include certain chemical compounds that are structurally related to synthetic drugs. It also allows the Board of Pharmacy to adopt an emergency rule to declare that a substance is a synthetic drug, although Committee members agreed that the emergency rule would permit civil controls to be imposed on the subject compound but that legislative action would be required to incorporate the compound into the drug crimes.  The bill provides that the definition of synthetic drug includes a compound determined to be a synthetic drug by a rule adopted by the Board, and enhances penalties for dealing in or possessing a synthetic drug if the amount of the synthetic drug is more than two grams.  Sen. Bray expressed concern about criminalizing possession or use of synthetic substances which may be created for and in fact have legitimate legal uses.  The bill passed 8-0.

Lousiana has a stick up their arses for banning plants. They took a published list of psychoactive plants, some of them so rare, and of only used by 'natives', tribal uses, that they would only ever turn  up in the collection of those that collect rare and funky psychotropic plants.

They just took the list and banned everything on it wholesale. Dumb arselickers. Just how the british govt vermin took Shulgin's books, and wholesale banned everything on it. Or tried to, they are no good with chemical nomenclature, so many tryptamines and phens remain free. Such as those with the substitution on the alpha carbon, and in trying to ban n,n-dialkyl tryptamines, they failed to mention alkenes/alkyne substituents on the tryptamine nitrogen, thus n,n-DALT and 5-MeO-DALT remain legal.

I do not believe for one second that substances are accidentally left off banned lists. It might appear to be accidental but most often this turns out to be used as an excuse for all encompassing analogue type bills because "we cant possibly ban all of them by name so we need a broader ruling". It will come... most likely via Europe.

Hell they sacked Prof. Nutt for being dumb enough to tell them the truth and basing his opinions on evidence and research. Strange the sounds you hear when you listen to someone who actually knows what the fuck he is talking about... a big loss and I hope he gets the last laugh.

Shame about the Kratom... IIRC it is not easily cultivated. Bummer.
All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream...
