Synthetikal is great, Wetdreams is great, Sciencemadness is great, the Hive once again will join in the greatness of all these sites. Of course there is room for all, I frequent all 3 sites reugularly and each one always has a little sumthin, sumthin to offer. IMHO, Synthetikal and Wetdreams both offer a place for some to go that aren't always on the uppity up of the "you better know what the hell you are talking about if you are gonna post here" viewpoint, a more "User-friendly" environment if you will. When I started posting at the Hive, I guess I didn't much care about being flamed though because I posted my stupid questions anyway, got bad karma points and was told several times to UTFSE and "Use Metric Units", nonetheless, I started at the Hive, and love the Hive as well as this site and the above mentioned sites and in summary I would like to say that I wish there were 20 more sites like the aforementioned. So, Synthetikal, Wetdreams, Sciencemadness, and the soon to be resurrected Hive, I say Thank you and Rock on!!!!

Well, ill tell u why i liked the hive so much. First (this is a minor arguemnt)like previously said i had some kind of charm with the do's and not do's there. sort of like a closed popular group of friends that everyone always wanted to join and be respected...
Seond, and this one is the major cause for my hive love, is that so many knowledgable ppl were active members. almost any quesiton would get answered or hs been ansered in the past. The discussions were lively. it was secured. it was outside of the frightning U.S of A (and no im not an amerikan). it was somehow "crypted" so that serach engine, web spiders, and site leachers could not d/l or read content. if u ever tried to use some leaching software to leach the hive for backup u know what i mean.
In anyway, this place is great, and it looks like its going to get even better, with more ppl joining and contributing their part.

As a side note, i thought this was based outside of the U.S. as well no?

Long live synthetikal and may the umbrella corp reopens the hive Very Happy

ive kinda been out of the loop for a while so can anybody fill me in on what happened to the hive and rhodium? i learned a lot from the hive but never dared posting any questions for the reasons stated above.

if you're not in the us then why does it matter anyway since the dea cant touch you? as long as you dont produce on an industrial scale here they dont really bother you. theyre geared more towards busting the superlabs.

As I understand, the host decided that they didn't want to host such material anymore. Rhodium has gone to study for a degree and PhD. It has taken a long time for the admins to decide what to do and to find a suitable host.

Does that mean Rhodium won't be a moderator anymore? If that's true it would be a great loss for the hive.

I would love to see the HIVE up again. But it will not come back with all information for sure. The database was raided before and there is serious doubt it will come back in complete now.

I would love to see the HIVE come back for the community of members. The administration which was not able to put up a static mirror for half a year despite of several offers for secure webspace is completely expendable.
(doesnīt say Rhodium and Lili wouldnīt make good moderators)

I would love to see the HIVE come back, but when itīs up again there is no reason to say "thank you so much" to those who have stolen information which was not theirs and withheld it for so long from those it belonged to.

The archives here are not only unofficial, but they have been made despite all efforts of the HIVEīs administraztion to prevent this. If anybody has to be thanked it is the person(s) who ripped this from the HIVE.
(not me - I would have loved to help, but had not the internet connection to make this possible)

I would love to see the HIVE come back - but when a possibility to download the board is withheld furtheron there must be consequences.
We wonīt forget that these people stole something from the community. I donīt respect thieves, in special not thieves with an attitude.

this place is the rightful inheritor of the community that was at the hive, and lucky us, all the tweakers went to wet dreams Very Happy well, i don't see why it would make any difference if the hive came back. strike is still offline, and it's been so long, i feel it's time to move on, that was then, this is now. synthetikal, to me, embodies the spirit of the time, the hive is dead, long live the bees.

I wish Rhodium all the best, he was a top man.

Being the chief bee at the hive and compiling the archive must of taken up much of his time.

I hope in time the moderators on here will earn the respect that the moderators on the hive did.

According to old hive-staff the forum will be up and running in a few weeks (said hopefully in a month the 14th of may, so pretty soon if we're lucky). And I wouldn't worry that the old posts should disappear, the reason they haven't put up a complete archive of the hive/rhodium is not that they're not able to do.. Just a lot of stupid rumours going round.

And: Rhodium is pretty ok, but donīt style an adolescent to a semi-god.

Synthetikal is by no means a better hive, there is plenty to say against this. But as long as information is kept open here and downloadable it beats the old hive which was actually a clique. A clique of.... well nevermind.

Someday this board hopefully will move to servers actually located in Canada or Europe and to software which does not fix all IPs to all posts.
Then we talk again.

I LOVE the downloadable books here, one thing the Hive didn't have. I wish people would stop sooking about the Hive coming back all the time and start giving credit where credit's due- to people like Syn, java, nubee, et all.

This site is everything and more than the Hive was so let's acknowledge how lucky we are to have a cohesive Synthetika and get some encouragement flowing. Wink

Positive vibes, good kharma,
Davidus. Very Happy

This is actually a thread about the hive and not a thread to praise the merits of Synthetikal.
