Good points. I should have said it would be an HTML version with the adsense and not  the actual forum. This has been talked about before, and would be in my opinion just fine to do because I plan to make it all available via HTML anyway. At that pint anyone one could do it.

As for giving the forum away, did anyone ever say "yes I will operate this forum and I want to, etc?"

If I could give it to someone, I would do that and auction off the original Vespiary acrylic painting for bitcoins. That would make me happy and would likely be the best thing for the forum.

Yes. I would take the HTML, make it generate revenue and you do the hosting. That sounds fine with me.

But is it okay with everyone else and the moderators that you get such power? To be admin, and holder of all the site and community?

I'm fine with it if you feel you are competent enough to host it. I know I am not and so I pay for hosting.

I feel like I would be more interested in this place if it, via HTML on a different website (scrub it of user names and it's own site s name preferably) to generate revenue for growth and be more self sustaining, and had more focus on harm reduction and changing bad laws.
That would interest me. Chemistry is fun, plants and drugs are fun but they don't keep the fire going for me. Being an activist and trying to reduce harm interests me far more.

And it is always a downer that the moderators and other well established members can cause such a ruckus about various things, talk about the superior software of the hive and fear monger that this site is going to go away like hellman or V16 or whatever.

Just now in the thread about me handing over the forum to the co op that owns wet dreams they had an issue where java suggested fishinabottle then wizard X and them had a fight.

This is exactly why I fear multiple ownership of the site. You get issues, I am predicting like what had happened with wet dreams, wet dreams reloaded and the community or whatever it is called.

Did The Hive have multiple people able to access the database?
Perhaps it is better to accept the eventual multi admin disputes resulting in branching of the forum into different communities as opposed to a full demise from a single admin like strike?

Also, I'm going go talk in half thoughts and get the opinions of others and criticism. I know it causes angst and worry about the site but there are so damn many personal he said she said issues in this site and conflicts between how to moderate and all else that really it's just a drop in the bucket and it helps me see how people behave and react.

Honestly at this point in my life I would like to make this site more open, more honest, more focused on harm reduction or just get rid of it and transfer it to an honest talented person or group of people.
